Dear Dee,
Today I took my human out for her walk. She emerged in her enormous woolly hat - the one that makes her look like she’s storing emergency supplies in there! I slowed my pace so she could warm up her legs. She’s only got two of them, after all.
Things I pointed out to her: Red and white berries glowing like tiny fairy lights. • Autumn leaves - she said, “Oh, look at that!” Heart‑shaped leaves along the path (my hedgehog friend had been there earlier - he never tidies up). Icy patches sparkling like sugar. I walked ahead, demonstrating excellent balance and leadership. Geese flying overhead, honking their way through what I assume was meant to be a song. Enthusiastic, yes. Tuneful, no.
I felt calm. I felt capable. And I felt proud of my human for noticing all the small things - after I spotted them first.
It was a lovely walk - mostly because we walked it together.
Warmly, Sid
